Hunk sat on a stone bench in the Royal Gardens. He couldn't believe how depressed he was feeling. It had been a long time since he had felt this depressed. It was gloom and doom city.

He lloked up from the rose bed in front of him when he heard footsteps coming up behind him. He looked over when Lance sat down beside him.

"Hey man, we've been looking all over for you. Pidge was wanting you to lift some heavy stuff for him."

"Yeah, I suppose."

"Something eatin' you, pal?"

"I don't know what it is lately, Lance, but I feel so depressed that it's like I could cry forever and it would never even begin to make me feel better."

"Do you know why? Something happen you wanna talk about?"

Hunk lifted an eyebrow then shifted his gaze back to the roses, not sure if Lance was being sincere or not.

"Have you ever had the feeling that you regret letting someone go that you deeply cared about, practically defended with your life?"

Lance thought for a moment,

"Yeah, I guess you could say that, I've had a lot of flings but there have been a couple that I truly regret leaving. Someone in particular you have in mind?"

"Yeah." Hunk looked over to Lance,"Twyla."

"The spy? The one whose brother was turned into a robeast."

"Yeah."

"What brought this on?'

"I don't know. I gues, in a way, I'm jealous of you guys."

"Why?" Lance looked startled.

"I see you with a different girl almost every night. I see Keith with Allura and Sven with Romelle. You all seem so happy. I think even Pidge has a certian someone in his life."

"If he does, I don't know about it."

"There are days when i don't think about her at all, even weeks at a time when she never crosses my mind. Then there are days I can't get her out of my head. I don't know what to do."

Lance patted Hunk on the shoulder.

"Don't worry. If you were meant to have her, she'd come back. You'll find that special someone someday."

"Key word being someday, Lance, if you don't mind I'd just rather be alone. Tell Pidge I'll do the work later."

"Sure, pal." lance left not really sure if he should leave Hunk alone or not.

At that same moment on a distant planet. Someone else was staring glumly at a patch of silver grey roses. They grew in abundence on her planet, but she didn't care. Eversince the liberation of her planet there was only one thing on her mind and, for some reason, it wasn't freedom.

Twyla De Lyeria laid back down on a grassy hill as stared up at the sky. Somewhere out there was they guy that had saved her life but had taken the life of her brother.

She had loved her brother dearly but she had gotten over the grief now her thoughts turned to something else. Hunk. The only one who really cared, who wanted to protect her regardless of what she did.

"Oh Hunk, how could I have ever let you down? I see what I done wrong. I see now that what they told me were lies. I wish I could get back to you but the only way I'll ever get into space is to join the Space Crusaders."

Twlya turned over onto her stomach and laid her head on her arms. Geting into the Space Crusaders was a lot of work but in the end it was so rewarding.

You could earn your own ship to go exploring or you could join a fleet to go patroling and searching for new planets to become allies with.

Twyla sat back up. Yes, that's what she would do. It would take a year out of her life but it was well worth it. Anything to get back to Hunk. Anything.
